The truth about auto insurance quotes is that the internet has made them very easy to obtain. There is no need any longer to call various insurance agencies on the phone and listen to their individual sales pitches while you are trying to get the information you need to make an informed decision.

And the power of the internet to bring the consumer a wealth of authentic choices is fabulous.

And with that power, anyone in the market for an auto insurance quote can compare insurance policies in the quiet and comfort of their own home. The day of the high pressure auto insurance agent is gone and the customer now rules.

But even though the information you need to get good insurance quotes is readily available, the customer still needs to understand what data they will need to give to the online insurance site. Many times, the information they want is spelled out in detail on their sites, but it never hurts to be prepared with your exact details before you begin.

If you are shopping for auto insurance quotes online and come across a site which asks for exact information about your auto and your circumstance, you need to provide the information asked for in a truthful manner. Not only is it more possible for you to get discounted price quote if you provide the correct information, it is highly unlikely that you will get any discount at all if the insurance company finds out you misrepresented the truth.

For instance, these are some important questions the auto insurance quotes sites might ask.

- They might want to know how far you drive to and from work each day and how many days a week you do this.

- If they want to know if any driver of the car smokes, make sure you answer truthfully.

- If one of the questions is about carpooling, make sure you say if you are in a carpool or not.

- For sure they will want to know the make, model and year of your automobile, and since they will need the VIN in order to insure your car, make sure you give the exact information about your car they are looking for.

- More times than not, they will want to know if you have more than one vehicle, so you can get a multi car discount or just as important if you have any other insurance policy needs they could supply. And that can be the source of another great discount.

Here are some tips for you. Firstly don’t get attracted towards monthly payments for your car insurance. It’s not as cheaper & manageable as it looks, it just seems so. Typically, they will charge you interest of 24% approx., it adds £50 to the normal car insurance cost. In Britain more than 50 percent of the 26 million insured drivers pay monthly, & cumulatively this means, in unnecessary payments to insurance industry around about £624 million is being handed. It doesn’t matter whether you pay by cash or credit cards, spreading it over a year for 24% will be more expansive.

Secondly, do not accept a renewal quotation automatically, even if you have a significant no-claims bonus. In insurance industry there is no customer loyalty like things. In big companies by offering great discount everyone target new clients, as compared to existing clients some offer half price deals for same level of cover. You’ll see the difference by applying as a new customer from existing one.

Thirdly, as after a year your policy is up for renewal then you will have to pay higher premiums so don’t try to make a claim on small amounts up to £500. If you’ve made many claims then in some cases insurer may not cover you.

Fourthly, your level of excess should be as high a level as you can afford. This can also get your payment down considerably.
Fifthly, insurance premiums can be affected by job title, & most of the people don’t even realize this. Some professions are not fine thought of by insurers – sales reps, journalists, & estate agents to name but a few. If you’re accurate about your job title you can reduce your premium. For example a news editor may pay £576 but a journalist may £600. On the other hand you must tell the truth. Any claim that is made by you would be invalidated by inaccurate or none disclosed information.

Sixthly, your insurance premiums can be reduced by security devices. The affect of security devices like vehicle tracking to your premiums can be calculated by companies that fit car security devices.

Next, as around half of insurer won’t provide insurance cover so avoid modifying or customizing & any that provides cover will certainly charge you more. If you really want to keep the cost down then do not pimp your ride.

Help answer the question about insurance sales tips

What happens if I buy Insurance for a car, then the sale falls through? Do I get a full refund?
I'm driving 120 miles to go buy a car. I've seen it and am 90% sure that I'll be buying it. I will need insurance to be able to get a tag and drive it home.

But what happens if I buy the insurance policy, and for some reason the deal falls through? Is there a window of time to cancel most insurance policies? Will I lose some money on the deal?

Any tips on this besides just getting it while I'm at the buyer's location? Time that day may be a little tight, so I'd prefer to have it before.

Thanks so much for your help!

Although winter is notoriously sluggish in terms of real estate shopping, the downtime provides a golden opportunity for homeowners to enhance their property’s marketability. Here are five simple ways to pump-up your listing, even during the winter lull:

•	Calculate your estimated heating costs going forward for the rest of the winter.

Heat rises, and so does the cost to keep a house warm while energy prices escalate. So you may want to offer a discount to your potential buyers in exchange for a prompt sale. For example, one owner of a large antique house faced combined utility bills of $900 a month for the upcoming four months, for a total of $3,600. He advertised that he would contribute $2,000 in closing costs to a buyer, and one jumped at the chance. He closed within 30 days, saving himself more than $2,500.

•	Provide a Home Warranty

Especially if you are selling an older home, consider buying home warranty insurance and giving it to your buyer. A home warranty policy offers coverage for repair or replacement of items such as appliances, heating and air conditioning units, electrical systems, and clogged plumbing.

The cost of the policies varies, but most average between $250-$500. But the reassurance they provide to a homebuyer usually far outweighs the expense of paying for the policy, so a home warranty can sometimes give you a competitive edge as a seller.

•	Host a Broker’s Open House

While public open houses are common – and we see lots of balloons tied to listing signs during spring and summer months – the broker’s open house is a more specific marketing tool. And Realtors generally agree that a broker’s open house is much more effective in terms of generating a sale.

Rather than invite buyers, you invite only Realtors, so for every person who attends you generate many potential contacts with qualified buyers who are looking for a home. Realtors visit your home, tour it, pick up information sheets on the property, and keep it in mind for possible showings to their own clients.

To host a broker’s open house, contact local real estate brokers and invite them to attend. Schedule the event for a weekday, because weekends are busy for Realtors and they will have more time to attend during normal working hours. A good idea for a broker’s open house is to host it on a Monday or Tuesday from 12 to 2 p.m., and offer a simple lunch of deli sandwiches, coffee, and soda. Because winter months are slower for Realtors – and because the entire event is hosted indoors – winter is a great time for a broker’s open house.

•	Enlist the Expertise of a Reputable Mortgage Lender

One of the biggest obstacles to a successful sale is financing, and this has never been truer than it is now, during the subprime mortgage mess. To help potential buyers who visit your home come up with a mortgage, enlist the help of a local lender. Many mortgage loan officers will appreciate the opportunity to work with your potential buyers, because it gives them a chance to generate fresh leads for possible loans.

Visit your lenders, talk to them about ways they might be able to provide mortgage information to your buyers, and then provide their contact info to buyers. If you hold an open house event, have the mortgage professional set up a table in your living room and advise visitors regarding various types of mortgages and current interest rates.

•	Clean out the Clutter and Make Minor Repairs

Concentrate on clearing out closets, the garage, and the attic. Remove any unnecessary personal belonging and furniture. Emptying closets and rooms makes them look bigger, and buyers will feel like they are getting more space for their money.

There is no need to go into debt over minor repairs, but a strategic approach to fixing up your house can pay for itself in a faster sale at a better price. For example, if your doorbell does not work and there are cracks in your windowpanes or rips in your screens, buyers will notice and deduct points. Maybe the bathroom needs a coat of cosmetic paint, the kitchen faucet leaks, or the gutters need to be cleaned. You may be accustomed to these minor inconveniences, because as we live in a home we adapt to its quirks. But to a skeptical buyer they stand out as evidence that the rest of the property is not well maintained and may have major hidden problems.

Use the winter months to spruce-up your home and enjoy the pride of having a home that shows well and looks its best. Buyers and Realtors will notice and appreciate the effort, and attention to small details is often the difference between a languishing listing and a closed transaction.

Commitment, passion and dedication to changing what you perceive as a social injustice and prejudice was the drive that encouraged Jeff Hammerberg to create a monumental service to the American LGBT community, one that he had envisaged for a quarter of a century. 2004 was a significant year in realizing his dream, as Jeff Hammerberg, founder of the largest LGBT real estate marketplace in the world, reaped the rewards of his vision that had been nurtured for 25 years.

During the 1990s, Jeff Hammerberg worked in residential real estate, and observed first hand the “quiet homophobia” that pervaded the industry and silently but effectively hampered the lives of LGBT consumers nationwide by placing barriers between them and home ownership. By 1997, with little more than foresight, a strategy, and zealous fortitude, Hammerberg broke away from the traditional real estate community to create the first virtual real estate marketplace for LGBT clients.

Beginning with homelounge.com, an Internet company dedicated to assisting home buyers and sellers in the USA, Hammerberg gradually added services and sites, while adhering to a strict personal commitment to donate proceeds from his businesses directly into the LGBT community.

By 2004, he had created www.lesbianhomes.com, www.gayrealestateplanet.com, and www.gaymortgageloans.com, which are all ground-breaking companies in terms of concept and adherence.

The annual Doublespeak Award is given to some public figure whose language is deceptive, evasive, jargon or confusing or euphemistic. While usually associated with public figures and corporate environments, some salespeople easily fall into the doublespeak traps without knowing it! Here are the top four doublespeak traps and how they can hurt your sales results.Â

The deceptive trap. My son is in the computer security industry and is a highly sought after speaker. While there are many technical terms that he clarifies, his language is clean in particular when explaining a problem. He calls a software bug a bug; he calls a software fix a fix. It would be wise to ask questions of someone who might use the deceptive double speak term, “a reliability enhancement.” Just how true, how clean, is that communication? How true or clean do you speak?Â

The evasive trap. What’s your title? Health counselor, and you sell a health product? Insurance specialist, and you sell insurance? Strategic Alliance Manager, and you are in sales development? Come on salespeople! These kinds of titles are acceptable only after you at least admit to yourself that you are selling something or you’re in marketing. Then if you want to clarify that you are interested in educating, or that you have a certain expertise, or that you value a long term relationship, add the rest of the title.Â

The jargon trap. Every industry has its jargon! If you’re a financial planner, why not use the word profit, or return on your investment instead of yield? Using jargon with your sales manager, with other people on your sales team, and other people who you work with might be acceptable. However, it can be annoying to a prospect of customer, so start speaking clearly with them and leave the jargon at home. Â

The euphemism trap. George Carlin has a ten-minute tirade about words that tend to attempt to soften or hide reality – euphemisms. From shell shock, to battle fatigue, to operational exhaustion and now the euphemism, post-traumatic stress disorder – almost disguising the mental and emotional pain soldiers suffer from being in war. Consider the absurdity in this general business example: wasting time gets called project research and then technological survey. Carlin is emphatic that it is the context, the user and the intention behind words that make a word good or bad. What words for your product, service or industry do you use to cover up something that is lower quality, a problem or otherwise negative? Just use words that speak the truth. I’m with George on this.Â

You say doublespeak is no big deal? William Lutz, professor of English at Rutgers University, authored The New Doublespeak: Why No One Knows What Anyone’s Saying Anymore. What does that tell you about the big deal of it? It destroys your communication and is a barrier to trust. It both clutters understanding and puts a salesperson who uses it in a bad light.

Business owners and managers know that the key to their business is a very successful sales team. It is very important that the sales staff continue to bring in new customers and keep the ones that you already have coming back again and again.

The techniques that are used by your sales staff is what will determine their success. It is up to you to make sure that they use the latest techniques and that they are fully trained. Training is the answer to make sure that your sales staff gets the best information about these techniques.

Smart business people know that to be at the top of the market it will take a steady stream of new customers along with loyal customers to continuously buy the product. It is up to the business owner to give their sales staff all of the tools that they need to keep the business at the top.

One of the ways to make sure that your staff understands all of the techniques that are available for sales is to hire a sales training company. When you are hiring a sales training company you should take the time to do a little research on the company and the kinds of techniques that they teach.

There are a number of techniques that can be used to bring in new customers. Every business will require a different set of techniques that will work best for them. The company that you hire should be able to determine the kind of techniques that will work for your business.

Advertising is one of the most effective parts of good sales. Make sure that the training company that you hire to train your staff, teach the benefits and techniques of advertising. When the training is completed your staff should understand how to use advertising techniques effectively.

There are a number of ways that the sales training company can deliver the lessons to your staff. It will depend on the availability of the staff, the method that is used.

For employees that travel frequently there will be a need for an online training session to get the lessons to these employees. For those who are in the office much of the time they can simply have an in house training session. It might be necessary for you to utilize both kinds of training for the different members of your staff.

There will always be businesses that don’t understand the benefit of using a sales training company to get their employees knowledgeable on all of the latest sales techniques. When you take a look at the profits that can be achieved by a company that has a well-trained staff, you will see that there is a definite benefit of getting the training to your employees.

Having a staff that is able to bring in new customers and help the loyal customers come back again and again cannot be overestimated. This is an edge that can help bring the business to the top of the game when they are competing with other businesses. You should also make certain that the sales training company that you use will be able to teach your staff the techniques that are used in online sales.

When you take the cost of the sales training company into consideration and weigh it against the amount of profits that are possible, you will find that it is indeed worth the money. It is an investment in the future of your business.

If some of your business is done online, you will understand that your business community is the world. If you want to be competitive in this environment it will be necessary for you to get your staff completely trained and ready to bring your business to the top.

Any recommendations?
I am wanting to host some employee sales training videos online so they can be easily accessed through the web. I have a company website where I can post the video links, but does anyone know of a good company/website that provides free or low cost, limited-access video hosting (I don't want these videos public to everyone – which excludes Yahoo and Google Video from what I understand).
Let’s look at why more life agents are prospecting with life insurance sales leads As a life insurance agent, your primary goal is to earn income from the sale of life insurance products to prospects who want your products. The key word is “want” your products.

Too many agents compile a list of potential customers and “chase” them with the idea of reviewing their personal or family insurance program. This method does create new customers by the sheer numbers of prospects approached. According to documented survey results, for every 100 prospects contacted to review their insurance or financial plan, only 1 new customer is gained.

The reason these prospecting numbers are so poor is because the majority of prospects in a compiled list, who fit your demographic target market, may not need to review their insurance programs for any number of reasons. Perhaps they already have an agent, or they just changed their program, or they just don’t want to review it. Whatever the reason, the majority of names on your compiled list of prospects will not do business with you.

On the other hand, if you choose to contact prospects who have demonstrated that they actually want what you have to sell, your prospecting numbers will look a lot different. For example, agents experienced in using life insurance sales leads as their prospects are usually generating 25 new customers for every 100 leads contacted. That’s a big difference compared to chasing a compiled list of prospects.

The reason for the production increase is the fact that insurance sales leads are individuals who have “raised their hands” and have requested an agent contact them to discuss life insurance. Instead of chasing prospects, the agent is helping prospects who “want” to talk about life insurance, for whatever reason. By using leads, you transform yourself from being a pesky salesman to an expert consultant.

In future articles, we’ll discuss the mechanics of how to work with life insurance sales leads to gain 25 new customers for every 100 leads contacted.
Which? has warned consumers that they could be wasting thousands of pounds of their hard earned cash on unnecessary insurance. The consumer body said that life insurance, car, buildings and contents insurance was vital, however it argued that other policies such as extended warranties, ID theft insurance and payment protection can prove to be a waste of cash.

The company recommended that people reviewed their current insurance policies to ensure they had adequate cover. Many people are paying for new insurance for things they are already covered for by existing policies, and some are taking out cover which is very unlikely to pay out.

An example of this is identity theft insurance purchasers, who are already covered by their bank or building society under the banking code, which specifies that the victim should be reimbursed.

Which? went on to assert that life insurance policies often include accidental death and injury cover, and mobile phones are covered by contents insurance. It pays to be insured in case anything should happen, but paying out twice for the same thing is a waste of money.

Payment protection insurance (PPI) has come under scrutiny from Which? for a long time, the company has pointed out high premium prices and high obstacles which often mean insurers will not pay out on policies. PPI is supposed to cover repayments on loans, mortgages and credit cards if the borrower finds themselves in a situation where they cannot meet the payments themselves, it has been widely criticised for being over-prices and only offering limited benefits to customers.

The author of the Which Money Saving Handbook, Tony Levene said: “The insurance industry’s favourite phrase is “peace of mind”, but it uses this to justify policies that cost a lot and are almost impossible to claim against, “Instead of just blindly following what the salesman says, people should carry out a risk assessment of their own, and make an informed choice about whether they actually need the insurance, and whether it’s worth the premium.”

PPI has faced much criticism over the past few years, earlier this month the HFC was fined £1m by the Financial Services Authority, for not ensuring 163,000 of its customers were properly informed when they bought PPI from the company.

This was the ninth fine of this type the financial regulator has enforced upon insurers for failing in this field. The Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) has also reported a steep increase in complaints by consumers about PPI policies.

The last financial year saw 2,000 complaints about PPI registered by the company, the first nine months of the new financial year saw 5,000 complaints made. Alongside this figure a 30% increase of complaints about car insurance was also recorded.

In a response to the Which? survey finding, the Association of British Insurers (ABI) said that consumers should carefully research their options before taking out any cover to ensure it is a necessary purchase. As Which? commented there are some types of insurance which are necessary and the number of cheap life insurance policies available mean that it is not impossible to be covered for the right things while avoiding the wrong.

ABI director, Nick Starling, said: “It is important that people look into their individual circumstances to ensure they have adequate insurance for their needs, particularly for life changing events such as unemployment and ill-health.”

“The sale of insurance is regulated but consumers should also be asking questions so that they can decide if a product is right for them,” he continued.

Starling said that the FSA has asserted that if sold correctly PPI insurance can provide and valuable protection for any customers who need to claim.

Getting a good deal on auto insurance and keeping your premium from rising is hard. Here are a dozen ways the industry works, with tips to help you save:

1. If you have good credit, you’ll pay less. Almost all insurers pull your credit report. Studies show a direct correlation between your credit score and the likelihood that you’ll file a claim. Insurers know that if you pay your bills on time and have the same credit accounts for a long time, you’re more stable than someone who pays late and frequently opens/closes accounts. This information is used to create your “insurance risk score,” a factor that determines your auto-insurance rate.

Tip: If you have unusual credit activity, wait a month for it to return to normal before buying auto insurance.

2. Your car model affects your premium. The auto insurers have a rating system for every car make and model. Most use a system devised by the Insurance Services Office, which starts with the vehicle cost, then factors in safety and theft data. Cars are rated from 1 to 27. Higher number means higher premium. If you’re buying a new car, ask your insurer about the difference in premiums for cars you’re considering. Search online for the latest top 10 lists on the most and least expensive cars to insure.

3. Pay in full to avoid installment fees. Payments usually are offered on a six-month, quarterly or monthly basis, but most insurers charge an administrative fee for breaking up the payments. The more you break it down, the more those fees add up.

Tip: Remember that insurance companies can cancel your policy for late payment, sometimes with minimal notification, so make sure you don’t miss an installment. If you can pay the premium up front it may save you a few dollars.

4. That Beethoven CD in your car isn’t covered. Stolen or damaged personal items aren’t covered by your auto insurance.

Tip: You can file a claim on your home insurance. Most home-insurance policies will cover smaller, less expensive items such as compact discs. But if you carry expensive items such as computer equipment, ask about a rider to your home-insurance policy. It’s wise to take photos or video of any expensive personal items before they go missing.

5. You’ll pay for your bad driving. The industry standard is to increase your premium by 40% of the insurer’s base rate after your first at-fault accident. For example, if the company’s base rate is $400, your premium will go up by $160. Not all auto insurers play by this rule, though, and some may increase your individual rate by 40%. Regardless of what formula they use, most of the time, your rates will increase.

Tip: Some insurance companies have a “forgive the first accident” policy. The qualifying variables are wide-ranging, so ask your company if it has a forgiveness policy and how to qualify.

6. You’ll pay for your friend’s bad driving, too. If your friend borrows your car and crashes it, you’ll have to file a claim with your insurance company. You’ll have to pay any deductible that applies, and your rates will probably go up as a result of your claim.

Tip: If your friend didn’t have permission to take your car, in most cases you won’t be held liable for the damage. But if your friend is uninsured and causes damage that exceeds your policy limits, the injured party can come after you for medical and property-damage expenses. Best bet? Don’t lend out your car.

7. Your car’s real worth. The value of your “totaled” car may surprise you. Auto-insurance companies don’t use the standard Kelley Blue Book or National Association of Automobile Dealers value. Instead, each company has its own proprietary list of car values, and most have specialized software for valuing cars in each region. They take into consideration the car’s mileage and pre-accident condition. The insurance company may also ask local dealers what they’d charge for a similar replacement car. However, the insurer will consider quotes from suburban towns as reasonable estimates. You might have to drive several hours to reach the cheapest dealer, just to save the insurance company money. And they might be quoted a better deal than you could get if you walked onto the lot.

Tip: If you disagree with your insurance company’s value determination, there are several things you can do:

Next time, get “gap” insurance. It will pay the difference between what an insurer will cover and what you owe, which can be several thousand dollars.

If you have maintenance records that show you’ve had the oil changed every 3,000 miles and you’ve had the car checked routinely by a mechanic, present copies to the insurance company to show the car was maintained. If you’ve been paying premiums on any special parts or upgrades, make sure those are included in the insurance company’s evaluation.

Get price quotes on replacement cars from three dealers within a reasonable driving distance and submit these to your insurance company. Ask the insurance company for a list of dealers within a specific distance who can sell you an equivalent car for the value the company is claiming. If you still aren’t satisfied, you can step up the process and go to mediation or arbitration. Mediation involves presenting your case to a neutral party for help in reaching a compromise; arbitration is a binding decision. You can also, of course, take the issue to court.

8. Check into “diminished value.” Say your car has been in an accident, but repaired. Is it worth less than the exact same car that hasn’t been in an accident? It’s a hot topic, but some say yes. In 14 states, you’re allowed to file a claim with your insurance company for that lost value.

Tip: Thirty-six states and Washington, D.C., allow insurers to exclude payments for diminished value, so if you live in one of those states, you can’t claim the loss. But in Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, North Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Virginia, Washington and West Virginia, you have a chance of getting a diminished-value payment. If you weren’t at fault in the accident, you often can make a successful case against the insurance company of the at-fault driver.

9. You may not owe sales tax on your replacement car. Twenty-eight states require auto insurers to pay for the sales tax when you replace your totaled vehicle with a new or used car: Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

Tip: Make the request; don’t expect the insurer to offer to pay upfront. Even in states that do not require sales-tax reimbursement, you should request it. Many auto insurers will not deny the request because the policy requires that they make you “whole,” returning you to where you were before the accident at no cost to you.

10. The tax will be calculated based on the pre-accident value of your car. If the insurance company values your car at $10,000, and you purchase a new car for $20,000, the tax will be calculated on $10,000.

11. You can wait to add your teenager to your policy until he or she is licensed. You’re not required to add your teenager to your policy just because he/she has reached driving age. Usually you can wait until he/she has a license or, if you’re in a high-risk insurance pool, a permit.

Tip: Don’t forget to tell your insurance company that you have a licensed teen. If you have to file a claim on his/her behalf, your insurer is entitled to charge you back premiums from the date your teen received a license.

12. You must officially cancel your insurance policy when you switch insurers. Your policy likely states that you can cancel by notifying the company in writing of the date of termination. Don’t assume that you can terminate the policy at the end of the coverage period by simply ignoring the bill. The insurers won’t see it that way. They’ll send you another bill for the next premium payment, and when you don’t pay it, you’ll be cancelled for nonpayment. That goes on your credit record.

Tip: Call your insurance agent or company and state that you’re canceling your policy. Give a specific date, or you may end up uninsured for a period of time. The company will send you a cancellation request. Often, the form is already filled out and just requires your signature. Read it to check for errors. You may have to provide proof of new coverage to your former insurer. And if you’ve financed through a dealership, give the dealer your new insurance information, because purchase contracts often require proof of coverage.

The Internet is a virtual goldmine – call it a virtual El Dorado, if you will. And, there’s a gold rush out there. Just about every small business owner is doing his best at selling his product, waiting to get that big break – something that will bring home the bacon, the ham and the pudding, and much more.

But, to get that big break is not so easy. And one of the reasons for that is small business owners treat their website as a display unit – a showcase for displaying their wares. Well, they couldn’t be more wrong because a website is much more – the website should be treated like a salesman who not only displays products but also communicates with the visitors and manages to convince them to buy the product. And for that to happen, a website needs good, sorry, make that great, copywriting.

Fundamentals of Good Web Copy

First impressions are the truest and they stay for a long time. And any website’s copy must create that killer first impression that can go a long way in making a sale. Needless to say, good web copy should be absolutely free from grammatical mistakes, and so it is essential to hire the services of a professional writer to create outstanding web copy. Apart from the grammar and writing part, here are the other fundamentals of good web copy:

1.	It has to be accurate. A single false claim or even an exaggeration can have disastrous consequences. Every fact that is mentioned must be reliable or verifiable. Remember, if an exaggeration is discovered by a customer, he will blast the website on his blog and on various bulletin boards. Moral of the story: Say what you mean and mean what you say.

2.	It has to be written in a conversational style. Like we said before, the website acts as a salesman and, just like a salesman, it should communicate with the visitor in everyday language, without confusing him with long words and big sentences. Think about how you talk in real life and then put it down on paper, and get it fine-tuned by a professional. Remember: short words, short sentences help!

3.	The copy needs to be organized and should flow seamlessly from one paragraph to another without jumping the gun. There is beauty in logic and people love to read an interesting bit of copy that takes them by the hand and leads them through the jungle of words.

4.	The copy has to be to the point. A heavily worded document is tedious to read and web visitors have short attention spans. Combine these two facts and figure it out for yourself!

5.	Hype and oversell kills. Avoid them. Stick to the basics. Period.

6.	Finally, the copy must be interesting to read. There’s no joy in reading short copy with short words that just goes blah blah and does not interest the visitor. It must be ensured that the copy has enough twists and turns to compel the visitor to read it in its entirety and then make a purchase. A website owner must liken writing copy to making a movie – plot, character, story, tautness, drama and suspense.

Okay, What’s Next?

Okay, let’s say now that you have sufficient knowledge to write web copy that will hold your visitor right up to the end. The next step is to build in the pitch that will make the visitor act and buy the product. And you can build up the visitor’s desire and make him act by building a value proposition, by making him an offer he cannot refuse!

And, to build in this value proposition the website owner has to persuasively tell the visitor that if he buys from his website he’s getting a whole lot of benefits, along with a knockout deal on the price too. Once the website describes these benefits, it must then create a sense of urgency by announcing a time-limited offer or limited-visitor offer – something that will make the visitor act immediately on impulse and clinch the deal.

This is one of the oldest sales techniques and it doesn’t fail – provided you have got all the fundamentals of good web copy going and the product you are selling does have some sort of a market – no matter how small the market may be.

A Few Tips & Tricks

1.	Always proofread and perfect the copy before it is published.

2.	The copywriter must always place himself in the reader’s shoes before he writes the copy. If the copywriter does not get motivated or enthused by his own writing, then he must junk it until he gets it right.

3.	The copy must not be written in an “I-am-clever-and-I-know-it” vein. Rather, it must connect with the readers by considering them as equals.

Conclusion

To conclude, you must get your inspiration and energy from these two super quotes: “The difficulty of literature is not to write, but to write what you mean” by Robert Louis Stevenson, and “Be yourself. Above all, let who you are, what you are, what you believe, shine through every sentence you write, every piece you finish” by John Jakes.

Now combine the two and see the wisdom in them and go ahead and write that eyeball-grabbing copy you always wanted to write but didn’t do so because you were waiting for a spark that would egg you on. And we hope this article has given that boost to your imagination. Good luck.

Nowadays, almost every business employs telesales personnel in order to boost their sales and do a world of good to their business. From newspapers to Advertising Agencies to Manufacturing Houses and even Charitable Institutions every one is employing telesales techniques for sales.

In fact, there are numerous companies around the world that exist solely for contacting individuals over the telephone! The numbers indicate that there are thousands of people working for the telesales industry just in the United Kingdom. However, these telesales personnel strive hard to get good commissions owing to the fact that the basic pay of these firms is generally insufficient.

With the change in the world economy market and the nations all plunging ahead towards a fuel crisis, the number of sales men and women on the road is decreasing incredibly. This is also aided by the fact that communication through the telephone is becoming easier and cheaper, which makes telesales techniques very important.

Even postage costs are rather high and although the email is a good idea for communication, it lacks the element of personal contact. This is yet another reason behind the booming of telephone sales.

The sales persons included in the telemarketing firms have the drive to earn more money and thus work dedicatedly.
The individuals working for telesales also make their best attempt to make the most of their talent.

Read on to know more about how you will make the most of telemarketing with great telesales techniques:

Openers
The most important aspect of the entire call that your telesales executives makes is the opening. Generally, the individuals who receive the call run on a busy schedule, thus the person who is called might not be in a receptive mood. What happens often is that the calls irritate the person. Thus, the most vital part of the conversation is the opening where the telesales department worker needs to make an impact. If the initial moments of the conversation are able to interest the person called, the telephone call becomes a success. The opening, therefore, that makes the call or breaks the call. So follow the tips given below to ensure that the opening moment of your call strikes the right chord:

A good telesales caller will begin by politely introducing himself or herself and then the company on behalf of which they are making the call. This is one of the fundamentals of telesales techniques.

Try to say something that will immediately grab the attention of the person and engross him in a conversation. In fact, if the person can be convinced that he will benefit from the conversation, the telephone call is likely to become a success.
Try to imagine yourself in the position of the customer. What would you like to hear? Once you can get this clear in your head, you will immediately know what the prospective client wants and how to make a call that will make your business a success.

Remember to make some impact with the opening line because it is the part that will determine whether the call will become a success or a failure. You need to construct the initial line such that it attracts the person being called. At the same time, it should be brief because the person on the other end will not give you a lot of time.

It wouldn’t have been AS bad if I hadn’t actually INTERRUPTED her to tell her No. I get the odd sales call from earlier subscriptions to various things, and they seem to all be as dumb as door-knobs.
Short Romance & Marriage Jokes 2?
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A MAN AND A WOMAN

A man is driving up a steep, narrow mountain road. A woman is driving down the same road. As they pass each other the woman leans out the window and yells, "PIG!!"

They each continue on their way, and as the man rounds the next corner, he crashes into a pig in the middle of the road.

The man, terrified, screamed, "STOP! STOP! You're not going to cut it off, are you???"

The husband said, with a gleam of revenge in his eye, "Nope. You are. I'm going to set the garage on fire."

——————————————————————————–

A man wakes up his wife during the night with a glass of water in one hand and two aspirins in the other. She asks, "What's this for?"

"This is for your headache," he says.

She says, "But I don't have a headache."

He smiles and says, "Gotcha!"

——————————————————————————–

Joe said, "Know what, Charlie? I killed 5 flies yesterday, 3 males and 2 females."

"How could you tell them apart, Joe?" asked Charlie.

Joe replied, "That was easy. The 3 males were sitting on a case of beer and the 2 females were on the phone."

——————————————————————————–

A husband stepped on one of those penny scales that tell you your fortune and weight and dropped in a coin.

"Listen to this," he said to his wife, showing her a small, white card. "It says I'm energetic, bright, resourceful and a great lover."

"Yeah," his wife nodded, "and it has your weight wrong, too."

——————————————————————————–

"I must take every precaution not to get pregnant," said Edna to Priscilla.

"But I thought you said your hubby had a vasectomy," Priscilla responded.

"He did. That's why I have to take every precaution."

——————————————————————————–

The Smiths were dining out when his wife noticed a familiar face at the bar.

"Honey," she said as she pointed the guy out, "That guy at the bar has been drinking like that since I left him seven years ago."

Her husband said, "That's silly, no one celebrates that much!"

——————————————————————————–

Nature has many laws that hold fast and true. For example, a baby ape will always grow-up to be an ape; likewise, a baby baboon will become an adult baboon. A baby pig will mature into a full grown pig. A baby jackass will always become a jackass. A puppy quickly matures into a dog; a mongrel pup develops into a cur.

Yet oddly enough, women say a young man may grow-up to be any one of these.

——————————————————————————–

Roger was fed up with his wife, so he packed up his stuff and moved into the garage. Although he couple seldom spoke, he continued to mow the lawn, take out the garbage and fix the car, while she cooked the meals, vacuumed and did the laundry.

Months later, Roger met his friend Don for drinks. "Things don't seem to be working out any better," Don remarked. "Why don't you just move out?"

"Well, if you really want to know the truth," Roger explained, "she makes such a damn good neighbor."

——————————————————————————–

Worried about their less than exciting sex life, a young wife sent her husband to a therapist who wound up treating him with self hypnosis. And, to her joy, everything got much better.

However, she could not help but notice that each night, early into their lovemaking, the husband would dash out to the bathroom for several minutes. This tormented her until finally, one night, she followed him.

There, in front of the mirror, she found him applying this therapeutic technique: "She's not my wife… She's not my wife…She's not my wife…"

——————————————————————————–

Rex's barn burned down and his wife, Susan, called the insurance company. Susan told the insurance company, "We had that barn insured for fifty-thousand and I want my money."

The agent replied, "Whoa there, just a minute, Susan. Insurance doesn't work quite like that. We will ascertain the value of what was insured and provide you with a new one of comparable worth."

There was a long pause before Susan replied, "Then I'd like to cancel the policy on my husband."

——————————————————————————–

A little boy asked his father, "Daddy, how much does it cost to get married?" And the father replied, "I don't know, son, I'm still paying for it."

—————————————-

A man said his credit card was stolen, but he decided not to report it because the thief was spending less than his wife did.

——————————————

First Guy (proudly): "My wife's an angel!" Second Guy: "You're lucky, mine's still alive."

——————————————————————————–

Bert took his Saint Bernard to the vet, "Doctor," he said sadly, "I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to cut off my dog's tail."

The vet stepped back, "Bert, why should I do such a terrible thing?"

"Because my mother-in-law's arriving tomorrow, and I don't want anything to make her think she's welcome."

——————————————————————————–

Wife: "There's trouble with the car. It has water in the carburetor."
Husband: "Water in the carburetor? That's ridiculous."
Wife: "I tell you the car has water in the carburetor."
Husband: "You don't even know what a carburetor is. I'll check it out. Where's the car?"
Wife: "In the pool."

——————————————————————————–

Overheard: "Has your husband lived up to all the things he said before you were married?"

"No, He's only lived up to one of them."

"Which one was that?"

"He said he wasn't good enough for me."

——————————————————————————–

The man told his doctor that he wasn't able to do all the things around the house that he used to do. When the examination was complete, he said, "Now, Doc, I can take it. Tell me in plain English what is wrong with me."

"Well, in plain English," the doctor replied, "You're lazy."

"Okay," said the man. "Now give me the medical term so I can tell my wife."

——————————————————————————–

Once upon a time, a beautiful, independent, self assured princess happened upon a frog in a pond. The frog said to the princess, "I was once a handsome prince until an evil witch put a spell on me. One kiss from you and I will turn back into a prince and then we can marry, move into the castle with my mom, and you can hold down a full time job, prepare my meals, clean my clothes, bear my children and forever feel happy doing so."

That night, while the princess dined on frog legs, she laughed to herself and said, "I don't freaking think so!!"

——————————————————————————–

It is two o'clock in the morning and a husband and his wife are asleep when suddenly the phone rings. The husband picks up the phone and says, "Hello? How the heck do I know? What am I, the weather man?" He promptly slams the phone down.

His wife rolls over and asks, "Who was that?"

The husband replies, "I don't know, it was some guy who wanted to know if the coast was clear."

——————————————————————————–

Attending a wedding for the first time, a little girl whispered to her mother, "Why is the bride dressed in white?"

The child thought about this for a moment, then said, "So why is the groom wearing black?"

——————————————————————————–

This time the husband crosses his fingers and says, "Mirror mirror on the door, make my penis touch the floor!" Again, there's a bright flash…and his legs fall off.

——————————————————————————–

He gasped and bent down. "Are you hurt?" he asked.

"Of course I'm hurt!" she replied. "Three times around and you didn't wave once."

"Cash, check or charge?" I asked after folding items the woman wished to purchase. As she fumbled for her wallet I noticed a remote control for a television set in her purse. "Do you always carry your TV remote?" I asked.

"No," she replied. "But my husband refused to come shopping with me, so I figured this was the most evil thing I could do to him."

"Thanks, boss," says Smith "I knew I could count on you!"

——————————————————————————–

The man approached the very beautiful woman in the large supermarket and asked, "You know, I've lost my wife here in the supermarket. Can you talk to me for a couple of minutes?"

"Why?"

"Because every time I talk to a a beautiful woman my wife appears out of nowhere."

——————————————————————————–

Two women were talking, when one said to the other: "Do you ever talk to your husband when you're making love?"

"Yeah," replied the second, "But only when he telephones!"

——————————————————————————–

The angry wife met her husband at the door. There was alcohol on his breath, and lipstick on his cheek. "I assume," she snarled, "that there is a very good reason for you to come waltzing in a six o'clock in the morning!"

"There is," he replied. "Breakfast."

——————————————————————————–

A wife, one evening, drew her husband's attention to the couple next door and said, "Do you see that couple? How devoted they are? He kisses her every time they meet. Why don't you do that?"

"I would love to," replied the husband, "But I don't know her well enough."

——————————————————————————–
